New characters, avenger+ninja

Hey guys I'm having a problem with these new toons being panda or any other char style. These toons destroy my shields and just keep me in the air and destroy me. I understand the fundamentals of refinement and building. Idk why these 2 new toons destroy any of the characters I build. Is anyone else having this problem?
